Cannot research "Semi-Products" with DLC

Dear forum,

I play with the latest version and no mods. If I activate the Digital DLC, I can't research & further develop semi-products such as "CPUs". When deactivating the DLC it works. Am I missing something?

The game forces me to select a group leader and restricts me to a selection of product classes.

Ok, solved. The hired engineer requires product class semi-products. Quite hidden
