Subsidaries Only Sell Livestock and Computers

In the included save file I've created a bunch of subsidaries to test the DLC features as well as try to manipulate stock market by using them. Anyhow the CEOs don't care about instructions, they just go and buy livestock products from my farms or build computers and sell them in Megadiscount stores and lose money until bankrupt. They also sometimes build these discount stores to outskirts of the city where there is literally no traffic index. Am I doing something wrong?
