Charities in my opinion should target one of the ingredients of "quality of life" in city menu, therefore should help city to maintain good quality of different services. That would increase immigration and population growth etc. Obviously city incomes and expenses should be re balanced to not been able to keep up with budget without big business donation or charity taking part of cost on themselves as we speak here about it. Hmm that is giving mi another idea that different ingredients of quality of life should attract different class of people. Then for example you as a car producer, you would support charities that suport city in parts that lure middle class people as those would influence your demand etc. In general population could be divided for 3-4 classes with different demand and concern for each product. Like working class could be more concern about price than quality. That would create a whole new space for running your business, focused on one target class, donating charity that would help your class etc.

Damn my imagination run wild again. sorry

Interesting Idea I am not sure about a Philanthropy simulation as a standalone game by itself I think it would have to be combined with some sort of business or career simulation where you would generate the wealth by building a company or working as a highly paid executive. The Richest people and in tern largest philanthropic donors tend to come from a handful of industries primarily Finance and Technology. There is also Rockfeller and Carnegie from earlier history.

What you suggested makes a lot of sense. I think there also could be a series of mini games with economic elements like the Turmoil game on Steam for different types of philanthropic endeavors. For example, a mini game for researching vaccine to eradicate malaria.

What do you think about the appeal of the subject matter Philanthropy? The poll on this thread only got a very small number of votes. Do you think the subject matter generally lacks the fun elements that people would associate with a game or it is because the term "Philanthropy" sounds too serious and a more interesting name may change people's perception of it?
