Poll for Potential Improvement of Placement of Apartments

Post by Yimmy »

Optimal Placement of apartments is partially dependent on proximity to Sporting and Community facilities. Having "influence circles" showing facilities that affect the appeal of an apartment's placement would be helpful.

this is a great idea, not just for apartments but also in mayor mode when placing an building, and also shopping malls/ stores, there so many buildings that depend on proximity etc and this would be very useful

Hi guys,

I like the idea. I played RA2 these days and I remembered the circles around some buildings. How about instead of literal circles, to have a map mode with options like "closeness to civic buildings" and "closeness to sports venues" so we can see where these zone for apartments are?

Not sure why this hasnt picked up in terms of support or from Devs. it is a great idea and quite honestly even a company in the real world would carry out surveys and planning projects to ensure their apartments or commercial properties will have useful effects or attraction.

same is probably needed for Mayor role when looking at civil service buildings like schools or hospitals, or maybe a map overview of coverage of each type of service so we can balance

AI struggles with placements anyway, hence it builds police stations in middle of nowhere etc, so not sure AI would be up to it without improvement.

Sixteen favorable votes -- over half way to the target 30. Unfortunately, the easy lifting is done; the next 14 will be slow to come. Perhaps if my sales pitch was better, we would see more favorable votes.

BTW: It is always good to have positive feedback; you never know when someone else would read it and might be influenced to vote in favor.

I think this has already been implemented, 4 years ago, and today we see the facilities close to the buildings, which influence occupancy
