Unable to use DLCs because not able to connect to capitalism lab

Post by arxbombus »

Not sure why, but having extremely spotty connection to capitalism2.com and by extension the server (104.168.148.184). This causes my game to be unable to use DLCs because it can't verify my account I'm guessing?
My internet connection works fine as verified by access to other sites and web services.
Constantly relaunching the game may fix the issue if I'm "lucky" to establish connection to the server.
Is this a known ongoing issue? Please help.

Actually the CapLab game connects to capitalismlab.com while this forum is from capitalism2.com

Are you using any anti-virus software that runs in background? If so, there is a possibility that the firewall of such anti-virus software or Windows Defender may block the game’s communication with the game server. You may check your anti-virus software’s user manual for how to add Capitalism Lab to one of its approved app to prevent it from being blocked by the firewall.

For example, if you are using Avast, you can add Capitalism Lab’s EXE file “CapMain.exe” into Avast’s exception list (white list) to prevent it from blocking the game.

For instructions about how to whitelist a file in Windows Defender, please see:
https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-whitel ... -defender/

Please make sure that you add “CapMain.EXE” (the main program) instead of “CapStart.EXE” (the game launcher) to the exception list.

I see! I wasn't aware which ip it was connecting to.
I tried adding it to windows defender's firewall but that didn't work. I don't think it's a firewall issue because it DOES occasionally connect, just extremely unreliably. I'll keep trying to see if there are other options
