Moving save game from computer to computer

I had an issue this weekend where I wanted to move my save game to play out of town (used skydrive). I took the save folder from Documents -> My Games and when I was "offline" and went to load the game it would show a hour glass and then say that no save game was found. I then realized that I had no internet access, once I connected to the internet and verified that the save files were in the correct folder (they were) I went to load the game and it FOUND IT! The only thing that changed was my internet connectivity. Is this a result of the DRM?
