2 Ways to become a mayor

Post by David »

There are 2 ways to become a mayor in this DLC:
1) acquire the rights to develop a new city and automatically serve as the mayor of the city for 30 years.
2) run an election campaign for an existing city's mayor with a mayoral term of 5 years.

Doesn't 30 days seem a bit lacking when it comes to this game where (to me it seems,) years pass by at blazing speeds so I'd not even likely notice a one month (30 day) period.

It was a typo. It should be 30 years. It has been fixed.

I assume the 500m comes from the player, not your corporation? Even if that amount is still under testing, would there be a benefit to serving as mayor in a new city greater than the amount? Like exclusivity for your corporation for a period of time or something like that?

There will be a new option for selecting the cost range of acquiring the rights to set up a new city. (see attached).

The lowest one will only cost $20M.

will this new option also work in scripts? if not, would be nice to set the city setup costs to maximum by default then its maxed if players use script. as 20 million is pocket change for most players i guess. no idea whats max but question would also be if this cash is comming outa private pockets, the company fund or political party fund?
