Some users have expressed interests in a content pack focused on the Smart Phone industry and its app eco-system (app stores and app products) and the dev team has initiated early stage design work on it.

Such a release could be called "Content Pack for Digital Age DLC" as it will require prior ownership of the Digial Age DLC to run. The price point will be determined based on the amount of content. We are tentatively looking at a price point of $4.99 or lower for the Smart Phone Content Pack for the Digital Age DLC. If the amount of content ends up being lower than what $4.99 could be justified, we will lower it to $3.99 or even less.

Here is a tentative list of new features in the Smart Phone Content Pack for Digital Age DLC:
-Develop smart phones using a proprietary system (e.g. iPhone) or open-architecture (e.g. Android phones)

-Develop OS for Smart Phone (e.g. iOS and Android)

-Develop Apps for an phone eco-system (e.g. iOS or Android apps)

-Set up App Stores to sell your Apps (e.g. App Store or Play Store)

-There will be two categories apps: 1) cloud-based apps that generate revenues mainly from advertising (e.g. Facebook) and 2) apps that generate revenues from app sales on app stores (e.g. photo processing apps)

In essence, you could choose a strategy in the same vein as Apple (a proprietary system system) or Google/Samsung (open architecture). It would be fun to see how the two worlds of systems duel out in a Capitalism Lab game that simulates the intricate relationships between apps and hardware in the smart phone industry.

And one other question.
A few mods have reached to limit of the products that the game supports,
When this content pack releases, it will add more products.
so the mods have to drop products, we want it the other way around... more products!

If everything progresses well, we should be able to release it in 1Q 2018.

I’m really excited for the smartphone DLC, it’s exactly what’s missing from Digital Age. I just wanted to inquire when the smart phone dlc will be released.

The dev team is currently working on the Banking DLC. We will work on the Smart Phone content pack for Digital Age DLC after the majority of work for the Banking DLC is done.
