Is it intended that the COO doesn't attempt to balance the price & infrastructure sliders in telecoms ?
I will forward this to the programmer for checking.
In addition even in new game if i lose control of a subsidiary i can still use its HQ to hire COO/CTO/CMO and adjust advertising sliders
I just tested it and I didn't encounter the problem.

We will investigate the problem if you can provide the save game file.

Please provide us with your save game file and let us know the following?
1) Which version of Capitalism Lab you are using. You can see the version number on the top-right of the main menu.
2) If your savegame uses a MOD, please let us know the name of the MOD and the MOD's version number.

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from:
C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE

You may email the save game file to us at info@enlight.com.

File attached is using no mods at all just base game with all 3 DLC's on 5.4.22 Release

If you select the green company HQ which was a subsidiary, although its 100% publicly owned i can still hire COO/CMO/CTO and adjust advertising slider




Also i am unable to hire some of the AI investors, even though they have no job noted eg.

Finally any idea how i can set up a subsidiary company just to do software/digital sales ?
i tried these options and the company does nothing (using RW 11.2)

When i tried the above settings with an AI player who had a skill in musical instruments, they started building factories even though the factory option was disabled - is this because the game doesnt have any AI who are specialised in software/telecoms/internet ?

Edit - using no mods i managed to get it to start developing in software, but they still built R&D centres and starting researching hifi's and camcorders - is this because its impossible to disable there "expert" product class ?

The bug has been fixed in the latest patch v5.4.23.

This is by design. The person possesses Computer expertise, which is a key skill in the Digital Age DLC. This reserves the possibility for the person to set up a company on his/her own.

ty for quick fix,
out of curiosity is there any reason why Telecoms is the only type of company that cant have a number set through the scripts ?

Also i decided to try the first scenario in base game (the fashion one).
Unfortunately it crashes with a mod loaded

Once mod is disabled I seem to lose almost 20% of my cash during the 5 year AI advanced start period, even though there is no visible reason.

also wouldn't it make sense if Goals counted subsidiary companies assets/sales/products ?

Also its possible to artificially inflate the difficulty if you use a monetary starting amount in a script. If i set the script to start me with 5 billion and use the environment tab to lower my starting capital to very low, i get the score based on the very low setting not the actual amount specified in the script.

When you try to use the + hotkey to set the initial capital of the new company, the "+" always appear on the company name. Therefore causing the hotkey to not work.

the last version had a 75kb help file, this version has gone back to 70kb, should i be overwriting with the smaller file ?

Yes, please go ahead and overwrite it. The last version's help file was one from the post-release beta version containing a number of help text strings that are not used in the current release version.
