How can I improve the employment rate of my city and increase the urban population?

Post by xuxin1458 »

I've made all the cities competitive, but the population is still rising slowly and the number of immigrants is very small. The public facilities in our city have covered the whole city. The whole city is covered by green. The supply and demand index has also been over 100. The overall quality of life has been 100, and the apartment rent is the lowest. The tax rate is also very low, and most industries are leading the world in competitiveness. The export commodities are far ahead of the import commodities every year, but there is no population moving in. I look at other posts on the forum. They say that the competitiveness is leading and the quality of life is high. There are 50000 people moving in every year, but I only have 3000 people every year. Have developers changed the logic of population moving in and employment?

It seems that the game manufacturers have changed the logic of population growth. In the previous version, there should be jobs when there are exports. Local manufacturers will automatically create jobs, and then there will be population growth. Now there must be players to create jobs, that is to say, factories must be built all the time to improve the employment rate.

I now find that a large factory can provide about 40 employees, about 600-800 population growth, a large farm can increase 60 employees, that is, 800-1200 population growth, and then the medium-sized ones are about one-half of the large ones.

The media industry should be the smallest in terms of population. A newspaper can provide 60 employees and 800-1200 people.

In other words, if you want to build a city with a population of 200W from scratch, you must have 2800 large factories, or 2000 large farms, or 2000 newspapers.

This is basically impossible, or at least particularly difficult to achieve

We will investigate the problem.

Could you please provide us with your save game file and let us know the following?
1) Which version of Capitalism Lab you are using. You can see the version number on the top-right of the main menu.
2) The exact steps for triggering the bug with the save game
3) If your savegame uses a MOD, please let us know the name of the MOD and the MOD's version number.

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from:
C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab Post-Release Beta\SAVE

You may provide us with your save game file by posting it here on the forum as a ZIP file attachment or emailing the save game file to us at info@enlight.com.

If your save game file is too large for attachment, you may check out this post about how to send us large files: https://www.enlight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2473

Hello David, the version I used is 6.1.03, using my own modified real world mod, but even if I don't use mod, this will happen.

I will send you my mod and saved files by email.

If I don't build any factories and create any jobs, the development of the city will be stagnant, but my export volume has been growing because of the high competitiveness of my city. I roughly estimated that if I don't build any factories, my city will have about 250000 people and fewer immigrants.

A city's population growth is supported by 1) a low employment rate, 2) high quality of living, and 3) sufficient housing supply. The population growth rate is a result of comparing the city's population in the beginning of this year with the same period last year.

When you have these 3 factors all in good conditions, the population will grow.

I'm satisfied with the other two conditions, but I don't know how to increase the employment rate. Do I have to build a lot of factories? I have built about 50 factories, but they can only provide less than 100000 jobs. If we rely on factories to provide jobs, even if the whole map is full of factories, there is no way to provide more than 1.5 million jobs. I think the old 4.4 version of the game can still study the competitiveness of the city through the University, so that the export will rise to promote employment, but now there is no way to rely on the export to promote employment?

I saw a post on the forum saying that in 20 years, the population can grow to 1 million, and the population can increase by 50000 every year, but I can't try the current version. Unless I've covered the whole map with factories or farmland. According to the normal development situation, I attract 15000 to 20000 immigrants at most every year. I don't know whether this is a bug or a game setting.
