Tutorial: Internal Sales

Post by CapitalismLabStory »

Hi, as I did the Warehouse tutorial last time, this just completes the whole aspect of it.

Internal Sales serves as a very strategic tool to use when playing Capitalism Lab.

So what is Internal Sales?

Internal Sales is a policy to allow selling your own products to other external businesses. By default, the game keeps Internal Sales off. You are able to change it in the Options -> Gameplay Options. Do check out the Warehouse tutorial to see it in a more practical context.

Benefits of Internal Sales:
1. Add margins to your products
By selling to yourself only, you can add a margin at the Warehouse then sell to others

2. Using a warehouse effectively
Internal Sales allows you to use a warehouse effectively as nobody should be able to buy from your factories.

3. Restrict access to high-quality resources
You don't want to give away high-quality inputs (mines, timber, farms) to competitors to use to compete with you using your own products

4. Sell at cost
Internal sales allows you to sell at the cost price to your other stores to allow you to compete. Note: I do not like this policy as I think you should always make a profit in each space (another day's discussion).

Tip: What if you want to switch on Internal Sales but you already have competitors as clients?
Hike up your prices to the max and you will make a fortune that month and drive them away to a cheaper source. Switch on internal sales then adjust the prices accordingly.
