and install it on your machine.
Crashes
and Lock-Ups:
When Wars & Warriors: Joan of Arc
starts, mouse cursor disappears and computer
locks-up.
Your installed audio card drivers may not be
compatible with DirectX. Please obtain a DirectX
8.x or higher-compatible driver from your sound
card manufacturer.
The
Installer keeps stalling after a certain percentage
has completed.
Your hard drive could be out of space. Please
free up additional space by removing unwanted
programs and reinstall Wars & Warriors:
Joan of Arc.
Files
are possibly being copied to a corrupted area
of your hard drive. If this is the case, run
the scandisk program and use the Thorough option.
After scandisk finishes and informs you that
your drive is free of errors, try installing
Wars & Warriors: Joan of Arc again.
There
may be dirt or fingerprints on the CD-ROM disc
itself. Examine the bottom of the disc and clean
it carefully using a soft, lint-free cloth by
wiping from the center of the disc (near the
hole) towards the outer edge in a straight line.
Wars
& Warriors: Joan of Arc crashes to the desktop
with no error messages.
- Make sure the reading surface of the CD-ROM
is clean (check for scratches and smudges).
- Make sure the game has been installed properly.
- Make sure DirectX 8.1b has been installed

errors are reported.
- Run Disk Defragmenter.

obtain newer drivers from the following web
sites:

Motherboard
Chipset:
If you continue to encounter performance-related
problems and have already ensured that your
system is DirectX 8.1b-compatible, you should
check for the availability of updated motherboard
chipset drivers with your system manufacturer.
Updating motherboard drivers usually enhances
the performance and functionality of your controllers.
Please consult with your system manufacturer
for assistance or your motherboard manual for
driver updates and possible solutions.
CDROM/DVD-ROM
Problems:
Wars & Warriors: Joan of Arc requires at
least a Quad-Speed (4x) CD-ROM drive with 32-bit
Windows 98/2000/XP drivers.
If
you receive a "xxxxxx.xxx not found"
error message when installing or running Wars
& Warriors: Joan of Arc, this error message
is usually attributed to the CD-ROM drive using
MS-DOS (16 bit) drivers instead of Windows (32
bit) drivers. To verify that this is the cause
of yout problems, open the Control Panel by
either clicking on the My Computer icon or clicking
on the Start button > Settings > Control
Panel).
Once
you are in the Control Panel window, click on
the System icon, then the Performance tab. You
will see a summary of your computer's performance
status. One line will read "File System:
32-bit" and the last line should mention
that "Your system is configured for optimal
performance."
If
you see a message saying "Drive X is using
MS-DOS compatibility mode," then contact
your system vendor to obtain and install 32-bit
drivers for your CD-ROM drive.
Sound
Problems:
If you experience skips while listening to the
speeches in the game, you should first check
if you have the latest sound drivers installed
in your system. Although possible, we do not
recommend using your motherboard's on-board
sound chip to play sound.
