We are pleased to announce this major update of Capitalism Lab with a long list of important improvements in game performance, AI and gameplay balance that greatly enhance the gaming experience!
New Features and Improvements:
1) On the New Game Settings menu, a new option has been added for setting the Aggressiveness of AI Pricing Strategy. It determines how far the AI companies will go in lowering prices of their products in order to grab market share from competitors. When this is set to low, you can expect most products to enjoy healthy profit margins and companies will be more profitable in general.
2) Major game performance improvements. We have worked extensively on further optimization on the game engine. You will experience noticeable game performance improvements, especially in late-stages games where there are a huge number of firms.
3) Interface Improvements:
a) As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the user interface of Capitalism Lab, the product sales graph has been updated with a set of new icons representing the types of data displayed (profit, revenue or the quantity sold).
4) AI Improvements:
a) AI has become more nimble and efficient in entering new markets with notable opportunities and little competition.
b) Improved AI’s ability in setting product prices more intellgiently to maximize profits.
c) When the Digital Age DLC is enabled, there is an increased tendency for AI to expand to other software categories, other than the one it is most familiar with, leading to more intense competition in the software industry.
5) A new button has been added on the stock market screen for resetting the history of stock trading gains or losses. At the time when you want to put your past stock trading performance behind and just focus on recent trading outcomes, this function will come in handy.
6) Gameplay Balance Improvements for better playability:
· a) Changed the Brand Concern value of livestock products including egg, frozen chicken, frozen pork, frozen beef, and frozen lamb to 20, so that AI’s advertisement program will cover these products. (AI in generally does not advertise products whose Brand Concern value is equal to or less than 10.)
b) Increased the demand for cars and motorcycle, smart phones, mobile phones and camera phones.
c) Increased the profitability of Internet companies under the normal inflation mode.
· d) Increased the effect of the economy (in terms of the GDP growth rate) on demand for software products for better gameplay balance.

Capitalism World Mod by Arcnor
The Capitalism World Mod uses the mod system in a truly creative way, adding an amazing array of new industries to the game, including airlines, insurance, banking and telecommunication, electric cars and even rockets (yep you can build your own SpaceX).
The Modern World Mod adds an unbelievable amount of product depth, manufacturing chains and retail specialisation and tries to replicate how a modern, modular corporation may need to go about its business, whilst still using some of the games conventions to find creative problem work-around’s.
Video Game Thumb Candy MOD by BioBiro
While there is no shortage of games on the market that let you manage a video game development company, none of them matches this mod in terms of offering you an unique opportunity to produce video game console hardware and dominate the video game software market at the same time (imagine a behemoth company combining Sony and EA.)
