Capitalism Lab: post-release beta version 6.2.02 now available

Capitalism Lab constantly improves with new features, better AI and replayability. As the owner of Capitalism Lab, you are always entitled to free updates to the latest versions.

New Features and Improvements:

1) Our artist has completely redesigned the Department Store building. It is a contemporary design with vibrant colors. Hope you like it.  

2) Added a new option “Boom-Bust Cycle Volatility” on the New Game Settings menu’s Environment page.

It adjusts the economy's impact on consumer demand, which affects GDP and in turn affects the volatility the boom-bust cycle. (The boom-bust cycle is the expansion and contraction in the economic cycle that occurs repeatedly.) 

3) An experimental feature: Building and Demolishing Roads.

To activate, first enable the Cheat Mode (instructions for enabling the cheat mode: https://www.capitalismlab.com/improvements/cheat-keys/)

Then press ALT-R to open the Road Editor, while you are viewing a city whose mayor is under your control.

4) Game Limit Increase
Increased the upper limit of in-game persons from 101 (100 AI persons + 1 player character) to 120. Currently the game has 109 person portraits. If you are using a mod with a larger number of person portraits, it will take advantage of the increased upper limit. 

Information Center Improvements

5) Added a new icon allowing you to change the display mode of the housing graph and the office space graph to one of the following: supply, demand, or supply vs demand.

There may be times when you find the supply and demand index going up, but you cannot tell for sure whether it is due to shrinking demand or surging supply of office buildings/apartments. With this new feature, you could switch to the graph mode showing only the supply or demand, to get a clear picture of the underlying cause.

6) Improved the formatting of various reports in Information Center for better overall looks. 

Interface Improvements

7)   For all [+][-] buttons in the game, you could now hold the SHIFT key while clicking for 10X speed.
Here are the possible ways of using the buttons:
Left-clicking: 1X
Right-clicking: 10X
Right-clicking while holding the SHIFT key: 100X  - allowing you to change a value faster with fewer clicks.

Gameplay Balance Improvements 

8) The effect of a tax hike or a tax cut (Corporate Profit Tax) now impacts the Business Activity Index with some latency. And the Business Activity Index now affects the unemployment rate in a more apparent way.

9) Adjusted the effects of buildings on land values for various types of firms.

New Cheat Key 
10) Added a new cheat key: Press ALT-X to add $10 million cash to all of your subsidiary companies instantly when the cheat mode is enabled.
