Capitalism Lab: Release version 6.2.06 and Preview of Banking and Finance DLC

Preview of the Upcoming Banking and Finance DLC

The Banking and Finance DLC simulates the financial world with a level of realism that is unprecedented in video games. It offers a powerful suite of new features that allow you to set up banks and insurance companies, issue and trade bonds, and invest in global stocks.

Preview of Bank Branches

A bank branch is a retail location where a bank offers face-to-face services to its customers.

This page provides an overview of the bank branch’s operation. You may change the deposit interest rate and the staff training budget here.

The amount of customer deposits that your bank branch will gain is determined by a combination of the following factors:

1) The deposit interest rate
2) The quality of service rating
3) The bank’s brand rating
4) The bank’s location (see the customer traffic index at the top-right of the bank branch screen.)

Your bank’s profitability depends on its ability to accumulate a large pool of customer deposits, which your bank can in turn lend to borrowers to earn the difference between loan interest incomes and customer deposit interest expenses.

New Features and Improvements:

1) A completely redesigned Department Store building with vibrant colors.

 2) An experimental feature: Building and Demolishing Roads.

To activate, first enable the Cheat Mode (instructions for enabling the cheat mode: https://www.capitalismlab.com/improvements/cheat-keys/)

Then press ALT-R to open the Road Editor, while you are viewing a city whose mayor is under your control.

3) Added a new option “Boom-Bust Cycle Volatility” on the New Game Settings menu’s Environment page.

It adjusts the economy's impact on consumer demand, which affects GDP and in turn affects the volatility the boom-bust cycle. (The boom-bust cycle is the expansion and contraction in the economic cycle that occurs repeatedly.)

4) Gameplay Balance Improvements for City Economic Simulation DLC:
Improved the simulation engine responsible for simulating unemployment rates and city population growth.

Increased the effect of city competitiveness ratings on job creations (employment).

Increased the effect of the corporate profit tax rate on the investment component of GDP.

When determining the location of the central business district (CBD), the game now takes into account the number of bank buildings in a district.

(For more details about City Economic Simulation, please see https://www.capitalismlab.com/ces-dlc/ultra-realistic-city-economic-simulation/)

5) Game Limit Increase
Increased the upper limit of in-game persons from 101 (100 AI persons + 1 player character) to 120. Currently the game has 109 person portraits. If you are using a mod with a larger number of person portraits, it will take advantage of the increased upper limit.
