New features and improvements in v11.41

The RealWorld Mod is the most popular mod for Capitalism Lab, with over 600 products and 900 customized product images, plus lots of new logos and portraits. The latest version has the following improvements:

1) The Mega Factory Graphics

A new image for the Mega Factory which has been added to the game by the RealWorld MOD. It has become the factory type of choice for players in the quest of market dominance, thanks to its tremendous production capacity.

2) Gameplay Balance Improvements

The consumer demands for various types of products have been tweaked to more reasonable levels, improving the overall gameplay.

3) Small Farm

A new "Small Farm" with lower setup and operating costs has been added. It would be useful when you are bootstrapping your business with limited cash.

4) Five new products including electrical scooters, campers, anticoagulants (medicines), bleach and irish coffee.

New Features and Improvements:

1) Improved the Cities report under the City Economic Simulation DLC

The GDP page of the Cities Report has been improved with better graphics and new help buttons explaining the effects of the GDP.

1st GDP component: Consumption is the total value of goods and services that are bought by the population simulated in the game.

2nd GDP component: Investment is the total investment made by the player and AI corporations in setting up new businesses.

3rd GDP component: Government Expenditure is the total expenditure of the city government, which can be run by a player controlled mayor.

4th GDP component: Net Exports equal to exports minus imports. Imports occur when companies in the game purchase products from suppliers in a different city. Exports occur when companies sell products to business clients in another city.

Together, they contribute to the GDP growth and make a huge impact on the economy, leading to booms and busts in the economic cycle, affecting inflation, employment rates, wage rates, and interest rates.

For example, when your company embarks on a large-scale business expansion in a city, it increases the Investment component of GDP, which in turn contributes to the GDP growth and kicks the economy into the high gear. The newly established companies create jobs for the city, lowering the unemployment rate. Subsequently the tightening labor market will force companies to raise salaries of their employees.

Further along in this chain of effects, a higher wage rate leads to increased consumer spending, setting the stage for inflation to rise. When rising inflation is unchecked and eventually runs rampant, the central bank will have no choice but to put a break on it by hiking the interest rate aggressively, which will inevitably drag the economy into recession.

2) A new tool for Exporting game data to CVS file, readable by Excel

When you have the Banking and Finance DLC enabled, you can press CTRL-E while viewing the Corporations report to Export the Corporate Financial Overview data to a text file in CVS format, which can then be imported into Excel.

The current version exports the cash, revenue and profit amounts of all corporations in the game. (Future versions will be capable of exporting more data types.)

Note: When importing the CVS file into Excel, Excel will ask you to choose the type of Delimiter used in the CVS file. Please select Semicolon as the Delimiter.

Bonus: A user-created EXE tool for converting the CVS file into Excel file in a single step with automatic graph generation
